Rich Desoto performs acoustic pop/rock favorites and original music in his own style and attitude! His music is heard regularly in Second Life and is available on CD from his website at www.richpalmer.com.
About Rich Desoto:
Rich is known as Rich Palmer in real life. He plays bass for the band "The Fries" (www.thefriesband.com) and guitar for the band "Knight Blaze". He's also a singer/songwriter that has recently released a CD for children called "Sing a Song for Safety". He's working on new material for a pop/rock CD to be released late summer 2007.
1. Do you write your own lyrics. Example songs?
I do have many of my own songs, including "Avatar Girl (an SL fav at my shows)", "I Used to Sleep" and "It's All Good."
2. Do you write your own songs and arrangements. Example songs?
I also write my own songs and arrangements. I was trained as a 'cellist and was a music major in college. I record all of my own parts, except for the drums, which I leave to my brother's talents.
3. What style of music do you play?
I play various styles, including pop, rock, folk, and even some classical. I dabble in stylings from the 60s to current.
4. What do you feel makes your music special?
I write to make people feel good. Most of my songs include a message or a thought about good times!
5. What have others said about your music in terms of your
A. Vocal style
I've been compared to John Lennon and George Harrison in my singing style, with an occasional reference to Ian Anderson.
B. Acoustic style
People compliment me often and say they enjoy my guitar style. I'm a high-energy acoustic player, with an occasional venture into fingerpicking styles.
6. Anything else to tell prospective listeners about what kind of music you play and what makes it special?
Come on out and try my show! I promise that I will give you all my energy, a fun attitude, and upbeat styles. I have as much fun watching and listening to the crowd as I do playing.
