Elmo Balderdash

Elmo Balderdash performs original eighties pop and cover rock songs on vocal and guitar. His music is heard regularly in Second Life and his CD. "Meet The Stevos" is available from several online music services, including iTunes.

The live shows range from old 60's standards (The Beatles, The Who) to current acts like Barenaked Ladies, and original songs that recall early 80's new wave acts like the Cars and Devo.

Elmo Balderdash was born in Manassas, Virginia. In spite of the fact that his dad was a musician, and that there were always guitars around the house, it never occured to him to pick one up until he was 17. He started learning acoustic folk-rock and was soon presented with a Yamaha acoustic as a high school graduation present from his parents (a guitar which he still owns and plays).

Elmo, in his real-life guise as Steve Dockery, has been playing and writing music for over 25 years. In college, he was in a band called *Batteries Not Included, and most of the songs on his debut CD, "Meet The Stevos" were written and performed originally when he was with *BNI.

Elmo has joined up with Chelle Fish (Chelle Fulk) of Keltish and drummer Kirby Yarborough to form a new band, String Theorists. They expect to be performing in Second Life this fall.

Elmo also occasionally appears as a guest with Keltish, and will be accompanying them at SLCC 2007 in Chicago in late August.
